Hi Sunshine, before I was a sailor I was an ethnographic filmmaker. This is a feature film that I made about a nomadic seafaring community in Thailand and Myanmar and it is the very film that inspired me to live on a boat and call the sea my home. The film premiered at SXSW, screened at the Smithsonian Institute, and won the Singapore film festival. I am posting it here to help me raise money for the 2026 Golden Globe Race which is a, solo, nonstop around the world race via the Great Capes. We will be sailing like it’s 1968 without the use of modern technology; no phones, no GPS’s, no chart-plotters. I will be the first American woman to compete in the GGR.
