The Malaysian man shot dead in Golok, Thailand, yesterday had been looking forward to the birth of his first child next month—on his birthday.
Mohd Fuad Fahmie Ghazali, 33, was killed after being shot eight times at his home following a heated argument with someone he knew.
He had married two years ago and lived between Pasir Mas and Golok while running an online business selling bags and gemstones.
His mother, Zaiton Abdul Rahman, said Fuad was her fourth child and visited home at least twice a week.
On the day of the incident, he had returned to Thailand just hours after spending time with his family in Pasir Mas.
His wife, who is heavily pregnant, is now left to face the tragedy alone.
Thai police have identified the suspect and are continuing their search while investigations into the motive are ongoing.
Fuad is expected to be buried today.
